Saturday Sports Update
Top: The NHL announced this morning that it has rescheduled 12 Buffalo Sabres games after the league postponed the team's games through at least February 8th. Today's announcement caps a tumultuous week for the Sabres, who saw five of their players enter the NHL's COVID-19 protocols and head coach Ralph Krueger contract COVID-19. Outside linebackers coach Britt Reid, who is the son of head coach Andy Reid, was involved in a multi-vehicle accident Thursday night that hospitalized two children, including a five-year-old who suffered life-threatening injuries. Britt Reid will not coach in Sunday's game, and he may face charges as early as next week. Photo by USA Today
Bottom right: The NBA announced this week that it is considering to hold an All-Star Game in Atlanta in March, but some of the league's superstars, including Giannis Antetokounmpo (left) and LeBron James (right), have spoken out against it, citing a lack of rest after playing a compressed schedule during the COVID-19 pandemic. Carmelo Anthony, James Harden and Kawhi Leonard have also pushed back against having an All-Star Game this season. Photo by USA Today
