Saturday Sports Update

Top: High school basketball is back!  The Fredonia and Dunkirk boys were both in action Friday night on the road, with the Billies taking on Salamanca (left) and the Marauders up against Allegany-Limestone.  Fredonia broke a 55-55 tie with a pair of late threes and clutch free throw shooting in the closing seconds to come away with a 67-60 win and improve to 2-0.  Meanwhile, Dunkirk lost its contest by a 60-39 score, falling to 1-1 on the season.  Images by Salamanca High School and Allegany-Limestone High School

Bottom left: A woman with roots in Western New York is making some noise in Australia!  On Friday, Jessica Pegula advanced to Round 4 of the Australian Open with a 6-2, 6-1 drubbing of Kristina Mladenovic.  Jessica is the daughter of Buffalo Bills and Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula.  Photo by Reuters
