Top: There was plenty of news from the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. The team announced that interim head coach Don Granato and interim assistant coach Matt Ellis (left) cleared COVID-19 protocol, one day after missing the team's last game in Pittsburgh. Both have rejoined the team for today's contest against the Boston Bruins. Also on Friday, the Sabres traded forward Eric Staal (right) to the Montreal Canadiens for a 3rd-round pick and a 5th-round pick in this year's NHL Draft. Bottom left: Needing a return specialist after Andre Roberts went to Houston, the Buffalo Bills on Friday signed wide receiver Brandon Powell to a one-year contract. Powell spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, returning 17 kickoffs for 343 yards and 17 punts for 152 yards in 2020. Powell also had 12 receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Bottom right: The Miami Dolphins shook up the NFL Draft on Friday by making trades with the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles. The Dolphins traded the 3rd overall pick to the 49ers in exchange for the 12th overall pick, as well as 1st- and 3rd-round picks in 2022 and a 1st-round pick in 2023. The Dolphins then traded the 12th overall pick and a 4th-round pick, as well as their 1st-round pick in 2022 to the Philadelphia Eagles, who are sending them the 6th overall pick and a 5th-round pick.
