Saturday Sports Update
Top left: Dunkirk catcher Phil Messina tags out Fredonia's Simon Davis at the plate during the 5th inning of Friday's high school baseball game at Fredonia High School. Messina made the tag after teammate Mike Norton caught a fly ball for the second out of the inning and made the throw from left field to complete a 7-2, inning-ending double play. It turned out to be the play of the game, as it preserved a 3-2 lead for Dunkirk. The Marauders went on to win 4-3, eliminating Fredonia from playoff contention in Class B-2. Image by Greg Larson
