Sunday Sports Update
Top: Section VI released its officials brackets for this season's high school basketball playoffs, and both of Fredonia's teams will be opening up their postseason campaigns on the road. The Fredonia girls team will be traveling to Alden in the Class B-2 prequarterfinals on Tuesday, while the boys are going to be taking on Cleveland Hill, also in the B-2 prequarterfinals. WDOE will have live coverage of plenty of the local action on the hardwood for the next two weeks. Photos by Greg Larson

Despite his hat trick, the Sabres were unable to take down one of the NHL's best teams, as they lost to the Avs by a 5-3 score. Photo by the Buffalo Sabres
Bottom right: Monday night marks the 40th annual Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet, with 11 inductees to be honored. WDOE's Dan Palmer (center), who got inducted into the CSHOF in 2013, recently interviewed two of this year's inductees: Sarah Burnett (left), who starred for Fredonia High School as a basketball player and later coached the Dunkirk High School girls basketball program; and Randy Anderson (right), President of the CSHOF. The induction banquet will take place at the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Photo by Dave Rowley
