Sunday Sports Update

Top: The New York Yankees won their fifth game in a row on Saturday, defeating the Detroit Tigers 3-0 in the Bronx.  Aaron Judge (left) hit his MLB-leading 21st home run of the season to lead off the bottom of the 1st inning, and that was all the Yankees' pitching staff needed.  Luis Severino (right) tossed seven innings of one-hit ball, and two relievers finished the job.  Entering today, the Yankees have a 38-15 record, which is the best in the Majors.  Photos by USA Today

Bottom left: The Colorado Avalanche are on the doorstop of the Stanley Cup Finals.  On Saturday, the Avs defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.  J.T. Compher scored the go-ahead goal in the 3rd period, and the Avs added an empty-netter to win 4-2.  Colorado will have a chance to sweep the best-of-seven series on Monday.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: There has never been a more dominant tennis player on a clay surface than Rafael Nadal.  Today in Paris, the Spaniard cemented his 14th career French Open title by defeating Norwegian Casper Ruud 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 in the men's final.  The win is also Nadal's 22nd career Grand Slam title.  Photo by Roland-Garros
