Saturday Sports Update
Top: The New York Yankees were locked into a pitcher's duel with the Chicago Cubs on Friday in the Bronx, and they needed 13 innings to settle the score. Luis Severino (left) helped keep the Cubs' bats silent, with 10 strikeouts and one run allowed over six innings. The Yankee bullpen then tossed seven shutout innings, holding down the fort long enough for Jose Trevino (right) to come through with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the 13th to give New York a 2-1 walk-off win. Bottom right: It will be Miller Time in the rafters of the KeyBank Center next season! The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday that they will be honoring Ryan Miller, the franchise's all-time winningest goalie. Miller will have his number 30 retired by the team next season and will also be inducted into the Sabres Hall of Fame. Miller was drafted by the Sabres in 1999, has 284 career wins as a Sabre and appeared in two Eastern Conference Finals. He also played for St. Louis, Vancouver and Anaheim before retiring in 2021.
