Sunday Sports Update
Top: Saturday was another busy day on the local high school basketball courts. Among the teams playing were the Chautauqua Lake girls (left in navy blue) and the Dunkirk girls (right in white), who both participated in the Salamanca Tip-Off Tournament. Chautauqua Lake defeated Salamanca in the championship game by a 48-37 score, while Dunkirk lost to the Park School of Buffalo 47-39 in the consolation game. The Lady Thunderbirds and Lady Marauders will face each other in Dunkirk on Friday, December 9th in WDOE's first broadcast of the new basketball season. Images by the Salamanca City School District
Bottom left: The Buffalo Bills are off today, but Bills fans will have a few games of considerable interest to watch today. One of them has Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins on the road against the San Francisco 49ers; a Dolphins loss would put the Bills in sole possession of first place in the AFC East. Also of interest is the Kansas City Chiefs at the Cincinnati Bengals, along with the New York Jets at the Minnesota Vikings. Photo by the Miami Dolphins
Bottom right: The Buffalo Sabres return to action tonight to face the San Jose Sharks, and they might get back defenseman Jacob Bryson for the contest at the KeyBank Center. On Saturday, Bryson participated in his first skate with the team since suffering a lower-body injury on November 23rd. Sabres head coach Don Granato told reporters afterwards that he "looked good" in Saturday's practice and "would expect he would be ready to go." Photo by the Buffalo Sabres
