Sunday Sports Update

Top: There was supposed to be a baseball game Saturday at Dunkirk's Al Stuhlmiller Field, but Mother Nature had other ideas.  However, the rain didn't stop the Dunkirk Sports Boosters Club from holding a ceremony for the unveiling of a plaque honoring Frank Jagoda, who is completing his 29th season at the helm of Dunkirk High School's baseball program.  The plaque was unveiled by seniors Brady Corbett, Wally Morales and Tyler Karin (left).  Speaking to players past and present, Jagoda called it "a tremendous honor."  Photos by Greg Larson

Bottom left: Another big day at the plate for Aaron Judge propelled the New York Yankees to a comeback win on Saturday.  Judge went 4-for-4 with three RBI, including a go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 10th inning as the Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-4.  New York trailed 4-1 after four innings before coming back to tie the game with three runs in the top of the 5th.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: Jamestown High School has a new head coach for its boys basketball program.  This week, the Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education approved the appointment of William Miley, Jr. to the post that has been held by Athletic Director Ben Drake for the last 25 years.  Miley steps into the varsity role after having previously spent 19 season as Jamestown's JV coach.  Photo by Jamestown Public Schools
