A south county woman will appear in court after she allegedly received $697 in unentitled food stamp benefits. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office reports that 24-year-old Antasia Babcock of the Town of Busti allegedly filed a false food stamp application in June 2015. Babcock later failed to disclose that information during an interview regarding the application. She also allegedly failed to report her new employment income months later in the time required to do so. Babcock has been charged with petit larceny, misuse of food stamps, 5th-degree welfare fraud, and 1st-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
