Homeless Man Charged in Theft of Copper from Local Church

A homeless man has been charged after an investigation into a larceny complaint last week at a church on Jamestown's north side. On March 21st, Jamestown Police responded to the unnamed church and determined that an unknown person stole approximately 60 feet of copper gutter downspout from it. After local scrapyards were notified, officers later in the day got a call from one scrapyard, which stated that a male was trying to scrap the downspouts. 33-year-old Mark Watson was located on scene and was taken into custody. He is charged with a misdemeanor count of 5th-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
