The Jamestown Police Department has made multiple arrests after investigations into recent domestic disputes.
On Thursday, March 20th, officers responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute on the city's north side at about 1:15 AM. An investigation found that 35-year-old Marcus McAffee allegedly shoved the victim who had an active order of protection against him. McAffee was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail on a charge of 1st-degree criminal contempt. Later that night, officers were called to an address on the city's east side just after 10:30 PM and heard 36-year-old Bruce Miles yelling back and forth with a female inside the residence. Officers, who knew there was an active stay-away order of protection against Miles, entered the residence once they got confirmation he was inside and found him hiding in a bedroom. He allegedly failed to comply with commands when advised of his arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Miles was charged with 2nd-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest.
On Saturday, March 22nd, officers were called to an address on the city's south side just before midnight. On arrival, they learned that 23-year-old Alexis Ellsworth allegedly obstructed another person from breathing. Ellsworth was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
On Sunday, March 23rd, officers responded to an address on the city's south side at about 7:30 PM and found that 22-year-old Michael Shafer had valid orders of protection to stay away from two people inside the residence. Shafer was taken into custody and sent to the Jamestown City Jail. Officer charged him with two counts of aggravated criminal contempt due to his criminal history.
