Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies charged a Mayville man with 2nd-degree criminal contempt after an investigation into a potential order of protection violation on Friday. Deputies responded to the call shortly after 8:30 AM and found that 49-year-old Anthony Ward had allegedly violated a lawful and standing court order. Ward was taken into custody early Saturday on a warrant and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail. He will answer the charge in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
