A Fredonia woman has a court date after she was allegedly found in possession of narcotics in the City of Dunkirk last week. Dunkirk Police responded to an unnamed business on Central Avenue on June 12th for a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle, later identified as 41-year-old Kia Briggs. While speaking with Briggs, officers saw several items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Further investigation led to the discovery and seizure of 2.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, 0.5 gram of suspected methamphetamine, several controlled substance spills, and an unknown powder. Briggs was charged with three counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. She was released with appearance tickets.
