Ellicott Town Police recently arrested two people on impaired driving charges following recent traffic stops.
On June 4th, officers pulled over a vehicle shortly after 9:15 AM at an undisclosed location after observing numerous violations. 53-year-old Melissa Sweeney of Celoron was allegedly found to be driving while under the influence of a drug. She was charged with DWAI-drugs and was also issued traffic tickets, and she was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
On June 10th, 44-year-old Brandon Taylor of Falconer was taken into custody after a traffic stop at an unnamed location. Officers pulled over a vehicle driven Taylor at about 12:30 PM after observing traffic violations. Taylor was allegedly found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of a drug and was found to have a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years. He was charged with felony DWAI-drugs and was issued traffic tickets.
