The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has announced the following arrests for drunk driving in June:
On June 4th, sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle on Route 83 in the Town of Cherry Creek shortly before midnight. Further investigation found that the driver, 49-year-old Christopher Firkins of Cherry Creek, was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and speeding.
On June 10th, 68-year-old Dan Swabik of the Town of Harmony was charged with felony DWI, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, no/inadequate tail lamps, and unlicensed operation. Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Summit Street and West Fairmount Avenue in the Village of Lakewood shortly after 10:00 PM. Further investigation found that Swabik was allegedly intoxicated. His DWI charge was a felony due to a prior drunk driving conviction within the past 10 years.
On June 13th, deputies stopped a vehicle on Allegany Road in the Town of Hanover shortly before 11:00 PM. Further investigation found that the driver, 58-year-old Michael Davis of Dunkirk, was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign.
On June 19th, 19-year-old Trenton Kendall of Sinclairville was arrested after a traffic stop in the Town of Stockton. Kendall got pulled over by deputies shortly after 1:45 AM, with further investigation finding that he was allegedly intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, driving after consuming alcohol (under the age of 21), and speeding.
On June 19th, deputies stopped a vehicle on I-86 in the Town of North Harmony shortly before 11:00 PM. The driver, 49-year-old Kimberly Sturm of North Bellmore, was allegedly found to have a BAC more than twice the legal limit. She was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or higher), consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and moving from lane unsafely.
On June 20th, sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop near the roundabout at Route 20 and Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret shortly after 1:45 AM. Further investigation found that 28-year-old Brian DiLorenzo, Jr. of Dunkirk was allegedly driving his vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and no/inadequate lights.
On June 22nd, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Route 430 in the Village of Bemus Point at about 2:00 AM. Further investigation found that 22-year-old William Lyman of Chesterland, Ohio was allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and speeding.
On June 25th, 68-year-old James Marillo of Niagara Falls was charged with DWI and speeding on Routes 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover. Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop shortly after 12:30 AM and found that the driver, Marillo, was allegedly intoxicated.
