Firefighters from several departments spent two hours battling a fully involved barn fire this morning in Brocton. Brocton First Assistant Fire Chief Jim Rizzo tells WDOE News that crews from Brocton, Portland, and Stockton responded quickly to the blaze on Route 380, just north of the College Lodge a little before 8:15 AM. There was also assistance from Cassadaga, Fredonia, Dewittville, and East Dunkirk. Rizzo says the occupants of the home near the barn were able to get most of their livestock out of the barn. No injuries were reported. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team is working to determine the cause of the fire.
