Common Council Researching Figures for Possible Water Project

Following last week's Chautauqua County Water Agency meeting involving several local muncipalities, City of Dunkirk officials are researching the figures presented to them in order to make a decision on whether or not to go ahead with a regional water project. Dolce says he and city officials want to make sure a sound decision is made with the city's best interests in mind before rendering any final decisions.

Also during Tuesday night's meeting, council members unanimously approved a resolution modifying a portion of its sewer use ordinance. Prior to the passage of the resolution during the regular meeting, a public hearing was held which no public comment was heard.

And Common Council members also approved a resolution that will see a change in the city's boat launch. The resolution grants Chadwick Bay Marina, Inc. a terminable revocable license agreement to operate the municipal boat launch, harbormaster building, and fish cleaning station from now through October of this year. The resolution shelves the city's long-time system of hiring a harbormaster to run the boat launch.
