Union officials say the strong support shown during a rally in downtown Fredonia may have made a difference when it came to reaching an agreement over a severance package with ConAgra. SEIU local 266 NCFO today announced that an agreement has been reached with ConAgra over the impact of the scheduled closing of the Carriage House facilities. The union's Vice President Joe Gullo says he couldn't release any details at this time because they were in the process of notifying the union's rank and file.
Gullo-Will be notifying union members
Gullo did indicate that they believe last week's rally did play a role in helping the union reach the agreement. The Carriage House facilities are expected to close by the end of the year, impacting some 425 union workers.
