There are two major items on the agenda for tonight's meeting of the Chautauqua County Legislature in Mayville. Legislator John Runkle says one of the items on the docket will be submitting a resolution to increase the county's fund balance by $2.6 million...

The resolution comes as the sale of the County Home in Dunkirk is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The other major agenda item deals with a $300,000 grant for projects on Goose Creek in order to reduce the amount of sediment that flows into Chautauqua Lake. Legislator Keith Ahlstrom says the grant for the project would help address the core problems of the lake...

Ahlstrom says the project would "straighten out" the meandering creek and reduce "thousands of tons of sediment" that flows into Chautauqua Lake. Tonight's meeting of the Chautauqua County Legislature begins at 6:30 in Mayville.
