A violent fight at a residence in Irving has landed an 18-year-old man in the Chautauqua County Jail. County sheriff's officers were called to 445 Main Road shortly after 1:30 PM Friday, and learned that John McLaughlin III and another person were involved in the altercation. Deputies say McLaughlin head-butted and struck the subject with a baseball bat, and also broke a door handle and threw a video gaming console out a second-story window. The victim was taken to Lake Shore Hospital. McLaughlin was arraigned in Hanover Town Court on felony charges of 2nd-degree assault and 3rd-degree criminal mischief.
