A 43-year-old Cassadaga woman lost her life in a crash on Mosher Hollow Road in the Cattaragus County town of Leon around 9 pm last night. Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies say a vehicle driven by Lerlene Rumsey of Route 60 struck a horse that was being walked across the road. The vehicle then went into a ditch, striking an earthen embankment before rolling over nearly three times. Deputies say the vehicle came to rest on its roof, ejecting the driver. A county coroner pronounced Rumsey dead at the scene. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation.
