As the results of water tests continue to trickle in, more school districts in Western New York have to deal with high levels of lead in their water. So far three Chautauqua County Schools have reported elevated lead levels, including Fredonia, Forestville and Silver Creek School District. Boria says the findings for elementary schools may be somewhat skewed because levels were taken from every fixture, in addition to those used for drinking and cooking. He says those that aren't used that often tend to have more lead found in them. Health officials are urging parents to read the notice sent home with students about what fixtures have issues.
