It's been one week since an issue with the general contractor led to the front entrance and reception area of the Jamestown Police Department getting flooded out, and a lot of equipment was damaged during a rain storm. Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi says the department has been fully functioning in different parts of the basement area of the building. But he says it's going to be some time before the reception area can be used again...
Sam Teresi: extensive damage
Teresi says they have directly tied the problem to the contractor, which was removing sections of the plaza as part of Phase Two renovations on the building. The front reception and communications area of Jamestown Police headquarters received one to one-and-a-half feet of water. Last week's storm was the remnants of Hurricane Irma.
