Will Republicans be losing control of the New York State Senate now that Democrats have picked up two seats in special elections held on Tuesday? In Westchester County's 37th District, Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer defeated Republican Julie Killian. In the Bronx's 32nd District, Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda defeated Republican Patrick Delices and Reform Party candidate Pamela Stewart-Martinez. With the two victories, it appears the Senate Democratic conference is closer to retaking the majority in the chamber.
