A Monday night blaze damaged a garage and three residences in the Village of Fredonia. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office reports that Fredonia Fire responded to 411 East Main Street shortly before 10:30 PM and received mutual aid from Dunkirk and East Dunkirk. The county's Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire originated in the garage, spread to the residence and damaged the exterior walls of two neighboring residences. The cause was found to be incendiary in nature; a resident of the home alleges that they carelessly discarded smoking material. No injuries were reported, and the fire remains under investigation. Fredonia Police also responded to the scene.
