Dunkirk firefighters were able to make quick work of a fire that started on a front porch Saturday evening. Crews were called to 516 Deer Street a little after 6:30 PM. Firefighters say the owner of the home put out most of the fire with a fire extinguisher before crews arrived. They put out the remainder of the blaze and checked for extension. Damage was minimal, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters were at the scene for about 20 minutes.
