Sheriff and local police step up recruitment efforts

A big push before the deadline for next month's Deputy Sheriff and Police Officer exam brought about an increase in the number of people who signed up to take the exam. That's according to Chautauqua County Sheriff Jim Quattrone, who appeared on Tuesday's "Viewpoint" program on WDOE. He and local police officials worked together to get the word out about the exam that will take place in Mayville on September 9...

The Sheriff says he is working with BOCES instructors and the Scouting program to establish an explorer post for law enforcement. Quattrone hopes to have it up and running this fall.
