
With Independence Day approaching, there are several locations in Chautauqua County that will hold celebrations marking the United States' 249th birthday. They include:
BEMUS POINT
Friday: fireworks show at 10:00 PM from barges in Bemus Bay; display will be visible from the Village Park, Lakeside Drive, and all around the village
CASSADAGA
Friday: flares and boats around Cassadaga Lakes will light up the lakes at 9:30 PM
DUNKIRK
Thursday-Saturday: July 4th celebration with live music, vendors and more; fireworks on Friday at about 9:30 PM
FINDLEY LAKE
Friday: duck race, boat parade, flare lighting and fireworks; flares will be put around the lake and lit before the fireworks at 10:00 PM
JAMESTOWN
Thursday: Fireworks Night at Diethrick Park, Tarp Skunks baseball team plays the Niagara Ironbacks at 6:30 PM
LAKEWOOD
Friday: July 4th Summerfest and Fireworks begins with annual Firecracker Run; vendors will be open on Chautauqua Avenue with live music in the park from 6:00-10:00 PM, followed by fireworks at 10:00 PM
MAYVILLE
Friday: July 4th celebration kicks off with a grand parade down Route 394 at 10:00 AM, followed by a petting zoo, live music, food, games and more at Lakeside Park; fireworks display will take place at 10:00 PM
SILVER CREEK
Thursday: fireworks and music at Borrello Park, 6:00-9:00 PM
