AAA Projects Record-Breaking July 4th Travel Period

AAA is expecting a "banner" year when it comes to travel during the July 4th holiday period, which began last Saturday, June 28th and continues through Sunday, July 6th. A total of 72.2 million people nationwide are expected to travel at least 50 miles away from home during that time. Air travel is also projected to hit a new record with 5.84 million travelers flying to their destinations. INRIX, a provider of transportation and data insights, says the best time for motorists to travel will be during the morning, while the worst time to hit the road is the afternoon.
