Jamestown City Council Approves CDBG and HOME Program Action Plan

City lawmakers in Jamestown have okayed the city's 2025 Community Development Block Grant and HOME Program Action Plan. This week, the City Council approved the proposal, which had no changes following an earlier public hearing on the $1.41 million in funding. That funding was expected to take a hit this year due to federal cuts; however, the cut wasn't as big as expected. Some of the bigger allocations in the CDBG and HOME programs include nearly $115,000 for the city's Neighborhood Target Area Infrastructure Improvement Program and $106,000 for Americans with Disabilities Act improvements to public facilities. Surdyk says the new action plan remains in line with the current five-year consolidated plan. The largest chunk of HOME Program funding will be nearly $110,000 for HOME Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation activities.
