Dunkirk City Schools to Focus on Attendance and Literacy in 2025-2026

As the Dunkirk City School District makes its preparations for the 2025-2026 school year, the district's new superintendent says he has two major areas of focus in his first year at the helm. Brian Swatland, who was a guest on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program on Wednesday, says the two main foundations he will focus on are attendance and literacy. Rebecca Leone: will have 28 workshops and development sessions
Efforts to improve attendance also include the district's UPK program. Kisun Peters, Principal at School 4, says attendance across those program has been at 90%, and he wants to see that figure improve more.
