Jamestown Police arrested a city man following a stabbing that occurred during a physical altercation at a local business on Saturday. Officers were called to Tim Hortons on South Main Street for a report of a fight shortly after 12:30 PM and determined that two people were involved. A third person, identified as 43-year-old James Morris, allegedly stabbed one of the two people involved in the fight. Officers located Morris a short distance away and took him into custody without incident. Police say the stabbing victim suffered a large laceration to his arm and was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for medical treatment. He was later transferred to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie for further treatment. Morris was arraigned on one count of 1st-degree assault, one count of tampering with physical evidence, two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of 2nd-degree menacing. He was then remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail and is being held on $10,000 bail.
