
This weekend marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and there will be numerous celebrations and fireworks displays taking place across Chautauqua County. They include the following:
BEMUS POINT
Saturday: fireworks at 10:00 PM over Bemus Bay; show will be set to music broadcast on Kix Country (96.5/100.3 FM)
BUSTI
Friday: community celebration at Busti Town Offices from 12:30-4:30 PM with free food, cake, and a bounce house
Saturday: Stateline Speedway hosting America 250: RUSH Late Model Touring Series with music at 1:00 PM, racing at 7:00 PM, fireworks to follow
CASSADAGA
Saturday: flares and bates around Cassadaga Lakes at 9:30 PM
CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION
Saturday: Chautauqua Lake Symphony Orchestra celebration at 8:00 PM in the Amphitheater
CHAUTAUQUA LAKE
Saturday: Light the Lake at 10:00 PM, flares illuminating more than 40 miles of shoreline
DUNKIRK
Thursday-Saturday: celebration at Memorial Park and the City Pier, fireworks at dusk on Saturday; show will be set to music broadcast on WDOE (101.5 FM/1410 AM); click here for more details on the city's celebration
FINDLEY LAKE
Saturday: all-day celebration featuring a duck race, boat parade, flare lighting and fireworks
FORESTVILLE
Saturday: 1776 Parade beginning at Forestville High School at 10:00 AM, fireworks at dusk in multiple areas
JAMESTOWN
Friday: Jamestown Tarp Skunks baseball at 7:00 PM, followed by fireworks
LAKEWOOD
Saturday: Summerfest will feature the annual Firecracker Run, vendors on Chautauqua Avenue, live music in Richard O. Hartley Park, and fireworks at dusk
MAYVILLE
Saturday: patriotic parade at 10:00 AM; live music, food, crafts, and festivities at Lakeside Park; fireworks at 10:00 PM, show will be set to music broadcast on Kix Country (96.5/100.3 FM)
SILVER CREEK
Friday: music at George Borrello Park from 6:00-9:00 PM, followed by fireworks
