This Fourth of July holiday is shaping up to be arguably the largest one in our nation's history, with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. While there will be scores of celebrations taking place across the area, local law enforcement agencies are reminding the public to celebrate responsibly. The Sheriff's Office reminds residents that all aerial and exploding consumer fireworks like firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets, and spinners are illegal to possess, use, or sell without a professional permit. It's also illegal to bringing those devices in from neighboring states where they may be legal. Meanwhile, local law enforcement agencies will also have extra patrols on the roads to crack down on impaired and reckless driving.
