Man Faces Federal Charges from November Drug Bust in Jamestown

A Buffalo man has been hit with federal charges in connection with a drug bust that occurred in Jamestown last fall. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Thursday that 31-year-old Jamarr Cunningham is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, which was the result of an investigation by the DEA and Jamestown Police Department.

In November, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force conducted multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl from a co-conspirator associated with Cunningham at a residence at 516 Palmer Street in Jamestown. On November 13th, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence, seizing a quantity of suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and a quantity of cash. Cunningham was at the residence and taken into custody on state charges. He made an initial appearance in a Buffalo courtroom and was released on conditions following a detention hearing.

If convicted, Cunningham faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a maximum of life.
