CCIDA Notes Progress on Homesteads at Dunkirk Landing Project

The man in charge of the Chautauqua County IDA says crews working on a 78-unit affordable housing project in the City of Dunkirk have been moving along "quite quickly." The word about the Homesteads of Dunkirk Landing project from CCIDA CEO Mark Geise comes days after updated photos were posted on the agency's Facebook page. Geise, who has been observing construction on Washington Avenue from his Dunkirk office, says infrastructure for the future apartment house there is in the ground...

Geise says the foundation is also being built at the other site on East 4th Street, near the Save-a-Lot Plaza. He adds that Regan Development is "the real deal" when it comes to following the timeline for the project...

Mark Geise: expecting great things

Once completed, the complex in the 200 block of Washington Avenue will have 48 units, while the building at 160-164 East 4th Street will contain 30 units. The CCIDA says 11 units will be built as fully accessible and adapted for residents with mobility and/or hearing/vision impairments, and 16 units will be set aside for veterans through New York State's Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI). The $38.2 million project is expected to be completed by November 2027.
