Flames destroyed a vacant trailer in the Town of Arkwright on Sunday. Firefighters from several area departments were called to the fully involved fire at 2795 Ball Road shortly after 1:45 PM. Crews from Cassadaga, Forestville, Fredonia, Stockton, Bay Creek, Sinclairville and Stockton responded, as well as the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and County Emergency Services. Forestville firefighters say Bay Creek crews confirmed an exposure about 10 feet away, and Cassadaga Fire stopped the fire on that exposure. Forestville Fire adds that only defensive operations were made due to the trailer being fully engulfed and partially on the ground. The fire was ruled accidental in nature, and no injuries were reported. Crews were on scene for more than two hours.
