Two parents and their juvenile child were taken into custody following a 20-minute pursuit of an e-bike Thursday evening that began in downtown Jamestown and ended outside the city. Jamestown Police were called to the area of West 8th Street and Cherry Street shortly after 6:15 PM for a complaint of several minors operating e-bikes in the street, creating a traffic hazard for passing motorists. Officers say they located one of the juvenile males operating an e-bike near Washington Street and West 3rd Street and tried to pull it over. However, he allegedly failed to comply and led officers on a chase through the southwest portion of the city and into West Ellicott. The juvenile was taken into custody there without further incident. The minor's parents, 37-year-olds Justin Barr and Monica Barr, were also arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Both parents were held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment, while the juvenile was released to another guardian. Further charges are pending.
