Two businesses in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area were part of recent underage drinking compliance checks conducted in Chautauqua and Erie counties. Investigators with the New York State Liquor Authority (SLA), working with an underage agent, visited five licensed premises in the area as part of ongoing efforts to monitor compliance with state alcohol laws. Among those were O'Malia's Liquor Store at 1170 Central Avenue in Dunkirk and Fredonia Food Mart at 33 Temple Street. According to the SLA, both local establishments refused to sell alcoholic beverages to a minor during the check on July 30th. Also, one location in Williamsville refused to sell alcohol to a minor, while two other Erie County businesses -- one in Derby and one in Williamsville -- appeared to sell alcohol to a minor.
