Firefighters from several area departments battled a house fire in Cherry Creek early Monday. According to Chautauqua County dispatchers, the blaze occurred at 6629 Main Street shortly after 12:00 AM. Crews from Cherry Creek, Ellington, South Dayton, Conewango, Randolph, Leon, Forestville and Bay Creek were on scene for approximately three hours. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says no injuries were reported, and the house is a total loss. The county's Fire Investigation Team is looking into the cause.
