An investigation into a report of a boater in distress on Chautauqua Lake in Celoron led to charges for a Jamestown man. Ellicott Town Police say 43-year-old Brandon Fogle was recklessly operating a vessel Wednesday morning and ended up jumping out of the vessel and into the lake after he could not get the boat to start again. Officers say Fogle was helped out of the water, and they determined that he was allegedly under the influence of a drug. Fogle will appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date on charges of reckless operation and operating a vessel while ability impaired by drugs.
