A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11:00 PM for an area that includes Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties. According to the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center, thunderstorms will increase in coverage through the afternoon in a relatively warm and humid air mass. A few of the storms may become severe, with damaging wind gusts being the main concern. Scattered damaging wind gusts up to 65 MPH are possible with any storms that develop.
