A Jamestown man faces a handful of charges stemming from an investigation into a one-vehicle crash in the Town of Ellicott last month. According to Ellicott Town Police, 36-year-old Lucas Rose was driving a vehicle north at an unreasonable speed on Peck Settlement Road on August 15th, when he failed to keep right, crossed the oncoming lane of traffic, and left the roadway. Officers say the vehicle impacted multiple trees and went into a wooded area. An investigation on scene determined that Rose was allegedly impaired by drugs and in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. An arrest warrant was issued, charging Rose with 7th-degee criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs, speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to keep right, driving on the shoulder, and unregistered motor vehicle. He was arrested on September 5th and released with traffic tickets and an appearance ticket.
