Grace A. Miller, 92, of Fredonia died Monday morning, February 19, 2018 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. She was born October 23, 1925 in Cherry Creek, the daughter of the late Patsy and Julia (Cerio) Monico.
A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Cherry Creek High School. Grace had been employed at Brooks Memorial Hospital as a unit clerk. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, its Altar and Rosary Society and the Grape Belt Seniors. She liked playing cards, reading, and playing golf at Hillview Golf Course. She especially enjoyed making her family's favorite cookies.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Keith) Francis and Patsy (Arthur) Holzerland; four grandsons, Shane (Lorretta) Francis, Matthew (Jennifer) Francis, Paul (Christine) Holzerland and Eric Holzerland; five great-grandchildren, Chase Francis, Elijah Francis, Connor Francis, Brandon Canady and Anna Rae Holzerland; two sisters, Rose (late Lawrence) Spacciapolli and Mary (late Lyle) Astry; sister-in-law, Audrey Monico; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Angelo Monico.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Saturday, February 24 at 10:00 Am in St. Joseph Church. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will be in Cherry Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church.
