Rosalie K. Campbell, 97, of Silver Creek passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk. She was born on June 7, 1927 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Charles and Rosalie (nee Ireland) Keating.
Rosalie is survived by three daughters, Mary (Michael) Borrello Dee of Silver Creek, Margo (Robert) Perrello of Fredonia and Amy (David) Trombley of South Dayton; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Reimann; three brothers, Jeremiah, Thomas and Francis Keating; and two sisters, Eileen Petrinec and Patricia Humble.
Rosalie was a 1945 graduate of Orchard Park High School. She worked for New York Telephone in Dunkirk, retiring in 1991 as a supervisor with more than 30 years of service. Early in her career, she worked for Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph Company in Roswell, NM as a telephone operator.
Her memberships included Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Silver Creek, Telephone Pioneer Clown of WNY and Telephone Pioneers.
She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, collecting cookbooks, reading, and volunteering at the Salvation Army, where she helped make food baskets and counted the money.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 9 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Avenue in Silver Creek. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Rosalie's memory may be to Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels or the Salvation Army in Dunkirk.
