Jennifer Mary (Mummert) Grant, age 71, passed away peacefully at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born in New York City to Catherine Carlson and Rochus Mummert on May 16, 1955.
Jennifer graduated from St. Cyril Academy.
Throughout her life, she experienced many chapters, each contributing to the person and mother that she became. She loved her crossword puzzles, knitting, soap operas, and spending time outside with family and friends. She had a loving heart and made an impact on everyone she met.
She is survived by her parents, Catherine Zilay and Rochus (Trixie) Mummert; children, Davis Nyman, Joseph (Crystal) Grant, Jason (Stephanie) Grant and Amanda (Quane) Pate; grandchildren, Tyler Grant, Zane Moore, Kella Pate, Rush Pate, Emma and Ava Grant, Dillon and McKenna Smith, and Steven Hopkins; great-grandchild, Maliyah McCall; brother, Melville (Jacqueline) Mummert; sister, Christine (Armo) Lewis; as well as Catherine Mount and many nieces and nephews.
Her passing offers a moment to reflect on the life she lived and countless memories and made with those around her.
A private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been lovingly made by the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street in Fredonia.
