Arnold Burchalewski, 68, of Conewango Valley passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with family by his side. He was born on August 28, 1957 in Buffalo to his parents Arthur and Frances (Aries) Burchalewski.
After high school, Arnold went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.
He married the love his life, Christine Borczynski in 1982, and they were married for 44 years.
Arnold was a New York State corrections officer, working in Attica and Gowanda. After his career in corrections, he went on to open Toon Saloon Tavern with his wife, Christine in Buffalo. In 1998, they purchased Racers Restaurant in South Dayton and have served the community for 27 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, his dogs, road tripping to Texas every winter, and spending time with his grandsons.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Christine; his children, Kimberly Burchalewski, Nicole (Clay) Williams and Michael Burchalewski; his grandchildren, Nathan and Carter; his mother, Frances Burchalewski; his siblings, Gerald (Kristin) Burch, Janine (Frank) Barone and Randall Burchalewski; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit the DiStasio Funeral Home, 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners in South Dayton on Sunday, August 30 from 12:00-2:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home.
