Ethel F. Colburn, 94, of Cherry Creek went to be with Christ in Heaven on Monday, September 7, 2026. She was born on November 2, 1931 in Charlotte Center to her late parents, Chauncey Sr. and Florence (Sheldon) Park.
Ethel attended grade school in two one-room schools and then later received her GED.
Ethel was married to the love of her life, John H. Colburn on September 17, 1949, and they were married for 70 years until his passing on October 24, 2019.
She worked for Will Care and loved taking care of seniors in their homes. Ethel retired from the Lutheran Retirement Home in Falconer at the age of 62.
She was a member of the Cherry Creek Baptist Church and was a teacher and teachers' helper.
Ethel loved babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going camping with her huge family, going on trips with her husband to Virginia and trips with her son, Mike and Deb on their bus to many places, especially to the World's Fair twice.
Ethel is survived by her children, Steve, Kathy, Dan and Pat (Leon); 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Frank; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sons, John Jr., Michael Sr. and Jeff; her grandsons, Michael Jr. and Mark; a great-granddaughter, Kaelani; her sisters, Alice and Margaret; and her brothers, George, Robert, LaVern, Lester, Chauncey and William.
Relatives and friends may visit the DiStasio Funeral Home, 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners in South Dayton on Thursday, September 10 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 11 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Cherry Creek Central Cemetery.
