Helen Migliore

Helen (Joy) Migliore, age 94, of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away on July 21, 2012 at the Chautauqua County Nursing Home. Helen was born in Buffalo on November 25, 1917.

She is survived by sons Thomas (Susan) Migliore of Carbonado, Wash. and James (Maureen) Migliore of Beaufort, N.C. and daughters Barbara (H. Michael) Easton of Batavia, N.Y. and Susan (Lawrence) Chaffee of Dunkirk, N.Y. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Migliore. Helen is also survived by loving sisters Florence Stack of Angola, N.Y. and Alice Baldo of West Seneca, N.Y. She was predeceased by brother Hank Szuniewicz, sister Leone Witte and three infant brothers. Helen is also survived by 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Helen centered her life around children and her love for dance. At the age of 16, Helen studied dance in New York City and performed there on stage. She returned to Buffalo to become a dance instructor for Anna Belle and later became owner of the studio. Helen established her Dunkirk dance studio in the late 1950s where she was known to be a talented, creative and dedicated instructor.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, N.Y. The Reverend William Leslie will officiate. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, N.Y. 14750 or to the Chautauqua County Nursing Home, Temple Road, Dunkirk, N.Y. are gratefully accepted.
